We are thrilled to announce that we are one of the recipients of Digital Science’s prestigious Catalyst Grant. The award will help us take Penelope from alpha to beta and carry out pilots with two journals.
We are pumped, especially as the competition was pretty stiff. We also participated in the associated Pitchfest event held in Boston, which feeds into the Catalyst Grant application. The competing teams had some really impressive ideas, but Digital Science saw something they liked in Penelope and in our team - that validation means a lot to us.
It’s not just the money that we’re excited about. Digital Science have offered us space in their London office amongst their existing portfolio companies and expert staff. Digital Science is unique amongst the entrepreneurial scene in the 360° support they give their portfolio companies. They know the academic industry like the back of their hand, primarily because most of them were in it before they decided to take the leap and join the movement to change academia for the better.
