James is an EQUATOR Network fellow and is passionate about well designed, well reported research. Inspired by the 2014 Lancet series on reducing research waste he founded penelope.ai, an automated manuscript checker which is now used by 1000s of authors each month. He has collaborated with the EQUATOR Network to build goodreports.org which won the 2018 Cochrane Prize for reducing research waste.
